Performance

Russ has always been the taxpayer's strongest ally. Here's how:

Fiscal Responsibility: Since being elected to Council in 2005, Russ has not voted to raise property taxes.  Instead, he has worked tirelessly to make government more efficient and responsive to citizens, and to make growth pay its fair share of the cost of new roads, parks, water treatment plants and other growth-related capital projects.

Fiscal Honesty: In the past, some local politicians have claimed to care about taxpayers’ wallets, while at the same time they supported growth-subsidy policies that took tens of millions of dollars a year out of existing neighborhoods to support new growth infrastructure.  In addition to voting against tax increases, Russ has worked tirelessly for policies that make growth pay its own way, keeping more taxpayer dollars in existing neighborhoods, improving existing neighborhood roads, parks, services and property values.
