Good Morning, Mr. Stephenson.
I am writing to request that you support my nomination to the city’s BPAC. I have been nominated by Bonner Gaylord and Kay Crowder. My represntative, Mr. Thompson, was absent at the last meeting and could not make the nomination himself.
I am currently vice-chair on the Midtown CAC and I have met you a few times when you dropped by our meetings. We also spoke briefly outside the early voting line at Optimist Park last November. I am a big supporter of you and your candidacy, I really appreciate your willingness to interact with and respond to your constituents. I have not encountered another city councilor who so quickly responds to inquiries. I also really appreciate your stance on citizen led government and support of the CAC system.
I was nominated for the BPAC in the spring last time there was a vacancy, and I was honored to receive your vote at that time. I ended up stepping aside after a split vote because I agreed that it is important for the commission to have African American representation, which it lacked at that time. I am still very excited about serving on the BPAC, my bike is my primary transportation, and I think I can provide a unique perspective on the needs and challenges facing people walking and biking in Midtown as North Hills continues to be built out into Raleigh’s second downtown. I have a background in natural resource sciences and am currently a geospatial analyst working on transportation management.
Regardless of who you choose to support for this vacancy on the BPAC, I would like to support your candidacy in the coming election. I talk you up to anyone who will listen, and I would also like to place a couple of your yard signs in my yard and on the right of way in some of the public areas around my neighborhood. Can you tell me how I can obtain a few?
Please contact me if you have any questions, and I look forward to seeing you get re-elected next month!
